Tennis Data & Methodology
Where the scores on this site come from, how often they change, and how the numbers we calculate ourselves — head-to-head and recent form — are put together.
Source of the data
Scores, fixtures, player records, tournaments, and venues come from a licensed live sports data feed. We do not collect scores by hand at courtside and we do not copy them from other tennis sites.
Scores are stored as the feed sends them; we do not edit or complete them by hand. Head-to-head records and recent form are computed from completed matches already in our database.
What the data covers
- Live and final match scores, set by set
- Match status and start time, in UTC
- Tournament and round, plus surface where the feed provides it
- Player name, country, and the published ATP or WTA ranking
- Head-to-head records and recent form computed from completed matches
- Venue name and city for the matches we list
Update frequency
Live matches update within seconds while play is in progress. Schedules, results, and player records re-sync through the day; ATP and WTA rankings change when the tours publish them, about once a week.
A finished match keeps its final score; if the feed sends a later correction — a retirement recorded after the fact, a fixed set score — the page follows the correction.
Dates and times are UTC
Every date on the site is a UTC calendar day. A match starting at 23:30 UTC on 6 September stays on the scores page for 6 September, even though it is already 7 September where it is played.
Match cards may show a start time in your own time zone for convenience. Page addresses, date headings, and date filters do not change with your location.
How head-to-head is calculated
A head-to-head record counts completed matches between the two players that exist in our database, with the winner taken from the final score as the feed reports it. Retirements and walkovers count as completed, because that is how the result stands.
Meetings we never received are not counted, so a record here can be shorter than a player's full career list. Each pair lives at one address in a fixed order, so the two possible orderings are the same page rather than two.
How recent form is calculated
Recent form is the player's most recent completed matches in our database, newest first. Nothing is weighted, ranked, or projected — it is a list of results with the score next to each one.
Report a wrong score
Use the contact form and give the page address and what the score should be. If the mistake is in the feed, we raise it with the provider and the page changes when the correction arrives.
We keep the data as accurate as the feed allows, and we do not promise that it is complete, uninterrupted, or fit for any decision you make with it.
Using the data
Pages are free to read and need no account. The feed behind them is licensed to us: link to a page or quote a score with a link, but bulk copying, scraping, or redistributing the data is not allowed.
